2. I volunteered at Feed the Children Thursday night. We loaded up boxes with canned food, spaghetti noodles, rice, and cereal. It reminded me of the days I spent volunteering at the Regional Food Bank in OKC. Always fun to give back.
3. I spent most of the week wearing my hot pink gym shoes, and I lifted enough weights to be sore. Finally. I also spent about five hours at the gym this week. So thankful for sweat sessions. They clear out my head and give me fresh perspective.
4. While driving home from church on Sunday, my husband and I had a very dear chat. He said several things I needed to hear. The words came at a time when I am wondering if I need a change with working so much. And I do know I need more time to myself, but after talking with him, I remembered how much I love what I do and how wonderful it is that I get to work with teens. I don't think I would have made it through this week without his words.
5. I saw my husband off to work this morning with every intention of falling back to sleep for another hour or two. But all I did was lie in bed and think. Once I finally got up, I saw this verse in my email and the spent time with the Lord. I definitely needed it because this week has been trying and today will be all too busy.
(PS: I am so happy for the weekend. I plan on working out this afternoon, relaxing tonight, going to spin class and then having a session with the trainer Saturday morning, walking through our close to being done house, shopping at Hobby Lobby and spending a night out on the town and in a hotel room...And then next week is short; thank you, pilgrims!)
love the heart sweater and those hot pink gym shoes!
